Ranked one of North America’s top ten ski areas by both SKI and Skiing magazines, Telluride Ski Resort is recognised internationally as a premier ski and snowboard destination. Telluride’s terrain is legendary and has always been revered as the best of Colorado. Additionally, the terrain parks in Telluride have been voted the best in the Rocky Mountains. The resort is famous for its annual snowfall and offers more than 150km of skiable terrain for all ability levels. With 300 days of yearly sunshine and no lift lines, (just a tad harder to get to than other Colorado Resorts unless flying into Montrose), the skiing and snowboarding in Telluride is a truly epic experience. Amongst its awesome ski area Telluride offers an outstanding area called “Revelation Bowl”. This spectacular European-style area is situated above tree line and offers advanced and expert skiing in an unbelievably scenic setting, offering the most stunning skiing and riding on the continent.

The ski resort offers a superb ski and snowboard terrain park and superpipe that is open daily and floodlight on 3 evenings (Thursdays through Sundays). Located on Chair 4, where the Nastar course once ran, the park attracts skiers and snowboarders of all ages to play and watch the action. While Telluride skiing and snowboarding is renowned for its steeps and bumps with around 38% geared for the advanced market, 38% of the resort is also intermediate terrain with corduroy cruisers, glades, moderate bumps and short chutes. See Forever, Telluride’s most popular intermediate trail, is just over three miles long, providing panoramic views all the way to Utah’s La Sal Mountains. The remaining 24% is left for the beginners so everyone can enjoy Telluride.

Given that some of the best skiing across the Atlantic is in Telluride, what about the town? It’s quite pretty and atmospheric, with surprisingly lively apres ski, emanating from the excellent New Sheridan bar, one of our favourites.Clapboard signs and colourful murals decorate Main Street storefronts while alpine elegance surrounds the Mountain Village shops. To give Telluride a little more uniqueness, there are items from around the world for sale including jewellery from China, India and Japan, furniture from Mexico and Guatemala and rugs from Persia. Toys, antiques and ice climbing gear please the young, the extreme or the sophisticated world traveller. So shoppers, skiers, boarders, non skiers and those that like to be in a quality resort and be pampered, will be enthralled with Telluride.

Food aficionados from across the country delight in the chef innovations and quality in this small resort boasting over 60 restaurants, coffee shops and bars.
